Jackson School District Curriculum Online

We are proud to announce the launch of a new website that has a searchable database of the approved curriculum in the Jackson School District.

This resource, known as the
Rubicon Atlas Curriculum Program, provides public access to our most up-to-date curriculum, including overviews of content by grade level, unit summaries and the essential questions students are expected to be able to answer upon completion of each unit.

To get started, click on the icon above. Select the “Browse’’ tab to see a list of courses, or begin searching by grade and subject on your own.

For now, the site features our complete curriculum in the areas of English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Physical Education and Health and World Language. This site will be a living database that will be updated as we update our curriculum to be fully aligned with state standards. (e.g. Science, Music, Art, Business, Technology).

We are proud of our curriculum and we hope you will enjoy being able to take a first-hand look at all the ways we strive to help students excel.

Principal's Message

May 6, 2016

Dear Johnson Families,

Good afternoon, I hope everyone had a great week.  Thank you to the PTO for coordinating the Mother/Son game night.  We had a wonderful turn out and everyone had an excellent time. The PTO also had the Mother’s Day plant sale this week. I hope all of our wonderful mothers enjoy their special day.  Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped during the event.  The fourth grade students wrapped up PARCC testing and fifth grade has begun. They will conclude on Monday.

The Johnson School’s lost and found is literally overflowing with all sorts of clothing items collected throughout the year. We recently displayed them all and had classes walk by one by one. Not one item was picked up by students. The lost and found is located just inside the APR door if you are interested in checking for missing items. Upon the start of summer break all clothing left behind will be donated.

Student Placement

At this time of year, many parents call or write to the school regarding their child’s class placement for next year.  The ultimate goal of the placement process is to find the best possible match between what is best for the student and what the strengths of each teacher are.  Class placement is a complex process that involves the input of many educational professionals and considers many factors.  I realize and appreciate your concern, but I will not honor parent requests for particular teachers.  I do, however, value your input and individual concerns for your child.  I will consider any concern or input that you have to offer, if you provide your concern in writing to me before May 10th.

Please let me explain some of the factors we need to consider in the placement process.
